Carol Foley is a Lawyer and Chartered Professional Accountant with over 30 years of experience in taxation, trusts and estate planning. She graduated from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton with a Bachelor in Business Administration and received her Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University in Halifax. She was admitted to the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 1987 and the Law Society of Ontario in 2002. She received her professional accounting designation in 1990.
Carol joins Manulife Private Wealth, bringing a unique combination of accounting, legal and insurance expertise. She has gathered diverse estate planning experience while previously working for various wealth management groups and trust companies.
Carol is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation. She has spoken at seminars and conferences on tax and estate planning issues for the Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting as well as several financial institutions. She has led sessions for the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course and taught tax at the University of Toronto and CPA Ontario’s summer school. Carol has written several articles, newsletters and training videos.
